BiographyHistory

Edward Reid-Smith (PhD, EdD) was born in England of Australian convict descent in 1929, and has worked as a librarian and educator in England, Egypt (British Army), Cyprus (British Council), Afghanistan (UNDP/Unesco), and Australia.  He arrived in Australia 16 April 1974 as inaugural Principal Lecturer in Library & Information Studies at Riverina College of Advanced Education (now Charles Sturt University). 

His publications tend to be on historical topics, and are mainly in the areas of English local history and genealogy, libraries, and adult education.

His personal documents are deposited with the Charles Sturt University Regional Archives in Wagga Wagga, at RW1666.
