BiographyHistory

N. V. Philpott won the Christmas Story competition in the Freeman's Journal in 1896 and was at that time resident in Perth. Her winning story was submitted under the initials N.V. P. She wrote regularly for West Australian newspapers. A news item The West Australiandescribes her short story published in Cosmos: 'The last issue of Cosmos contains a variety of interesting matter. Chief in interest for Perth readers is a brief story, with plenty of local colour, ingeniously conceived and well told by Mrs. N.
