BiographyHistory

Mary Cockerill, an Aboriginal woman, was drawn into a life of crime when she meet Bushranger Michael Howe. Not only did Cockerill became his lover, but she became an active member of his bushranging gang.

According to the Terror Australia Festival, she 'was a Tasmanian Aboriginal woman most likely of the mouheneener people of nipalunaa (Hobart)'.
