BiographyHistory

April Bright was born at Makanba in the hill country and is local to the Wagait floodplains area of the Northern Territory. Bright belongs to the MakMak people. As a child, her parents and grandparents evaded the child protection authorities seeking custody of her. Eventually Bright's parents agreed to allow her to be taken to Croker Island Mission for education.
