'After attending St. Francis Xavier College and Trinity College, Chris Allen left home to join the Australian Army and became one of its elite paratroopers, well-versed in the strategic thinking, camaraderie and resolve, characteristic of the Australian soldier. Allen attended the Officer Cadet School of New Zealand and was escalated through the ranks, including a stint as Peter Cosgrove's Operations Officer and a highly coveted posting attached to the British Parachute Regiment.
He served throughout South East Asia, Africa and the Americas, and having attained the rank of Major, his military career ended abruptly in 1996 due to injuries sustained in service. Back in civilian life, Chris led security for a major international aid agency at the height of the emergency in East Timor in late 1999, delivering security and logistics expertise, with a few close calls along the way.
In the wake of the 9/11 terror attacks, he took up posts with the Australian Federal Police Protective Service and New South Wales State Government.' Source: http://defenderofthefaith.com.au (Sighted 30/08/2011).
