Henry Wrensford was convicted of fraud (for embezzlement and forgery) at Middlesex Sessions Peace in May 1812. He was sentenced to a term of seven years and left England on the Earl Spencer in May 1813. Wrensford held a masters degree from Oxford University and, in 1816 while on conditional pardon, he established a school in Newcastle for the children of convicts. Wrensford later took up residence in Sydney and was granted his Certificate of Freedom in September 1823.
