BiographyHistory

T. A. Fitzgerald was an Irish Franciscan friar who spent the years 1886-1906 in Australia, before being recalled to Ireland. He returned to Australia in 1920. He was an enthusiastic advocate of the Irish language and wrote Stepping Stones to Gaeldom (1910). He also translated into English Padraic Pearse's The Mother (An Matair) and Other Tales (1917).
