BiographyHistory

After beginning his library career in the United Kingdom, Walter Richardson, worked in Australian regional libraries before being appointed as the chief of the extensions to the National Library of Australia, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, in 1963 which included overseeing the Canberra public library service. In 1970 he became deputy national librarian and in 1974 university librarian at Melbourne University, Melbourne, Victoria.
