Raymond Gates is an Aboriginal writer previously based on the Gold Coast, whose childhood crush on the darker side of fiction evolved into an adult love affair with writing. He has been an active member of the Australian Horror Writers Association, and has published several short stories and is looking for the novel that lurks within him. As of 2017, he was based in Wisconsin, USA.
In addition to works individually indexed on AustLit, the author has also contributed to a number of anthologies in the Demonic Visions series, self-published by the editors.
