BiographyHistory

Originally from Western Australia, Simonne Michelle-Wells has a BA in English (Theatre, Creative Writing and Literature) from Curtin University. She resided in Melbourne. In 2008, she was awarded a residency at Varuna in 2008 for her unpublished novel Beat and won the 2009 Ada Cambridge Prize for biographical short fiction with her work 'Broken Light.'

Originally a playwright, she wrote and directed numerous works for the Embryo Theatre Company in Perth, before moving to England for three years. She writes as a theatre critic for Australian Stage Online, and has had her fiction published in numerous places, including Beyond Words Anthology, Ciao Magazine, and Box Magazine.
