'If I could have given you a note

In your time of silence,

It would have the shape

of my heart

'Follow one poem’s journey through word, song, and visual art. How does the form of the poem trans-form across different media? What aspects of texture, tone, colour, shape, and line remain? This full colour book marks the culmination of the Text/ure project, a tribute to the collaborations and creative processes involved. With original poem ‘If I Could Have Given You A Note‘, full composers’ statements, interview excerpts, visual art, drawing statements, and all six concluding poems, it is a feast for eye and ear alike'

'Praise for Fingertip of the Tongue

'In Fingertip of the Tongue we find a poetry of close observation of people and everyday objects, finding in them new and deeper implications. These poems are sometimes whimsical, sometimes deeply personal, always satisfying. Sarah Rice displays a fascination with form and a great skill in finding the startlingly apt word, the evocative insight. Hers is a poetry of mind and heart. RON PRETTY'

1 Creative In-formation—a Per-formance or Possibly a List Poem—does It Matter? Back to the Drawing Board … Sarah Rice , 2017 single work criticism
— Appears in: TEXT Special Issue Website Series , no. 40 2017;
'This article performs the creative act of giving form to writing—whether that of an academic paper, poem or artwork. It is a demonstration of the ‘turn of the line’, watching itself turning from post-structuralist foundation through photographic essay to poetic performance. The ‘paper’ (existing only electronically) aims to capture the strange gathering of matter that constitutes the giving of form. By employing a philosophico-poetic approach, and drawing on ideas taken from philosophy, the history of art, and poetry (such as negative space, materiality, and material poetics), this article aims to capture creativity in the act.'
