BiographyHistory

Jan Kostanski was a member of a Roman Catholic Polish family who assisted Jews held in the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. Kostanski migrated to Australia in 1958 and established himself as a successful small businessman.

In 1984, Kostanski was awarded the Yad Vashem's Righteous Among the Nations Medal, Israel's highest honour for gentiles who assisted Jewish people during the Holocaust.
