Caiseal Mor, an Australian son of Irish immigrants who became cattle stationers in far west Queensland, was born into a rich heritage of storytelling and music. His first language was Gaelic and his Christian name, 'Caiseal' (pronounced 'Cash'), is Gaelic for 'circular stone fort'. As a child he learned to play the brass-strung harp, carrying on a long family tradition. For several years he collected stories, songs and music of the Celtic lands during many visits to Ireland, Scotland and Brittany. Mor has a degree in performing arts from the University of Western Sydney and has worked as actor, teacher and musician.
