BiographyHistory

A cultural historian of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Shelley Meagher holds a doctorate in English Literature from the University of Oxford and an MA in French and English Romantic and Sentimental Literature from the University of York. She has held lectureships in literature at Oxford University and Queens University in Belfast and won grants from the British Academy and the Folger Shakespeare Library. After leaving academia, she established a service called The Literary Explorer (an informed personal guide to literature) in Melbourne.
