BiographyHistory

Peter Mathews has been an Assistant Professor of English at Hanyang University (South Korea). After graduating from Scotch College, he completed a BA (1997) and PhD (2002) at Monash University in the field of Comparative Literature. He started his academic career as a Lecturer at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2002-03), then received a two-year visiting position at Creighton University (2003-05).
He was hired as an Assistant Professor of English at Centenary College in 2005, where he acted as Graduate Director for much of his tenure. He joined the faculty at Hanyang University in 2010. Published widely in the field of twentieth-century and contemporary literature, he also serves as the Secretary of the American Association for Australasian Literary Studies. He is the co-founder of the independent publisher Musical Socrates Press.
