BiographyHistory

Lutheran pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer actively opposed the rule of National Socialism in Germany. He was arrested in 1943, following his involvment in the German Military Intelligence Office plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, and executed by hanging in 1945.
