Notes

  • The poem 'To My Mother's Picture' is published under the pseudonym E. R. in the New South Wales Magazine, or, Journal of General Politics, Literature, Science and the Arts (vol.1 no.3 March 1843): 140 and the same poem (slightly revised) is published under the pseudonym Y ---- K in the Sydney Chronicle 14 July 1847): 4.

The entry for Edward Reeve (1822- 1889) published in the Australian Dictionary of Biography, states that Reeve wrote under the pseudonym 'Yorick'.

Evidence points to E. W. and 'Yorick', and the variant Y ---- K, being pseudonyms for Edward Reeve.
