'Mark Howie has been teaching English in high schools in Sydney's outer western suburbs since 1989. He has been Head Teacher of English at Penrith High School. Having been a member of the English Teachers Association (ETA) (New South Wales) since he began teaching, Mark joined ETA (NSW) Council in 1997. He has since enjoyed a two-year stint as Treasurer of ETA, and is a past President. Howie has contributed to a number of publications in the areas of English and literacy.'
