BiographyHistory

Charles Evans Mackay was educated at Wellington College and Canterbury College, New Zealand. He gained his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1894 and took up farming in Taranaki in 1895. Mackay taught at King's College Auckland from 1896 to 1898.

Mackay began work in a law office in 1898 and graduated in Law in 1900. He was admitted to the Bar the following year and then practiced as a barrister and solicitor.
