BiographyHistory

Mary Luckman was the widow of Thomas Luckman, who had been a bookseller, printer and stationer in Coventry, Warwickshire, from about 1764 to 1784. After Thomas Luckman's death in 1784, Mary continued the business, first at Cross Cheaping (from 1785), then Broad Gate (from 1790). She took on at least 9 apprentices until 1801. In 1797 she married again to W. Suffield.
