BiographyHistory

Nancy Bandeiyama is from Madang-adjirra on the eastern bank of An-gatja Wana in Arnhem land. She belongs to the Anbarra people. Bandeiyama is the mother of Betty Ngurrabangurraba and the wife of Frank Gurrmanamana (qq.v). While living in Maningrida, the anthropologist Betty Meehan spent time with Bandeiyama and recorded some of the details of her life in the biography Bandeiyama : She Keeps Going.
