1 Seditious Delicious : A Portrait of John Howard Russell McGilton , 2007 single work drama humour '1996. John Howard, our Lazarus with a triple by-pass, has just become Prime Minister. Sitting for his victory portrait, Mr Howard, in a Dorianesque moment, wishes for his painting to grow old and decrepit while he becomes immortal and in power for forever. However, a mysterious figure puts a hex on the portrait and the reverse happens: the painting gets better and better looking as John Howard becomes uglier and uglier with every evil thing that he does! By 2007, the Prime Minister looks not unlike Gollum and, worried about losing the next election, goes to the people - but finds himself on the sharp end of his own policies faster than he can gargle Guantanamo Bay.'
