BiographyHistory

The Reverend Steve Etherington (Ph.D.) is an Anglican priest and Church Missionary Society (CMS) missionary, and worked on projects to provide church services in accessible English for Aboriginal clergy to use in their parishes. Etherington and his wife were based in Darwin, Northern Territory, where he worked for the diocese as an advisor on Indigenous ministry. His wife taught at the local primary school. He was also the Archdeacon for some remote Aboriginal parishes.

Prior to moving to Darwin, he spent thirty years at Oenpelli, where he learnt the Kunwinjku language and coordinated the translation of the Kunwinjku New Testament.
