BiographyHistory

Stuart Gore was a journalist, a lecturer, a gold miner and a photographer. He also engaged in a number of other occupations including documentary film making. He was a foundation member of the Professional Photographers Association of Western Australia.

As well as holding his papers (MN1443), the J. S. Battye Library has set up the Stuart Gore Virtual Exhibition. This interactive multimedia project, the first undertaken by LISWA, states that 'the J. S. Battye Library of West Australian History holds 1 700 of Gore's photographs, six of his films, tapes of two oral history interviews, books and many newspaper and periodical articles'.
