— Appears in: Integration : The Magazine for Multicultural and Vietnamese Issues , April-July vol. 4 no. 10 1996; (p. 81-82)
The letter of an 18 year old girl who was treated for a mental health condition at a medical centre at Sikiew refugee camp in Thailand. She arrived there at the age of 12, after losing her father to the sea and her mother to the pirates. With her were her three small siblings. She has acted as a parent to these small siblings for the last six years in the appalling living conditions in the camp until she was admitted for medical treatment. (Editor's note)
