BiographyHistory

Kathleen Davies began writing and painting as a child and is an award winning, published author and artist.

In addition to works listed on AustLit, Davies has also contributed flora illustrations to plant field identification books produced by the NSW Department of Primary Industries, includind Grasses of the NSW Slopes, Grasses of the NSW Tablelands, Grasses of Coastal NSW, and Legumes and Herbs of Coastal NSW. For this work and other work as a wildlife carer and rescuer, wildlife educator, and volunteer ranger, she was listed in the NSW Department of Primary Industryies' Hidden Treasures Honour Roll for 2015. She has also published non-fiction on Australian fauna, including an essay on the scarlet honeyeater (illustrated by photographs by the author) in Wildlife Secrets magazine.

Davies has also worked on films, including as the stills photographer for Undertow and in various roles—including film stills photography, set dressing, props, and production design assistant—on Miro.
