BiographyHistory

Joan Burton-Jones spent five years of her childhood in Japan before returning to Queensland where she was a student at Glennie School, Toowoomba. During the 1960s she travelled extensively and studied silversmithing at Sir John Cass College, London, following which she developed an enamelling and jewellery business. On return to Queensland, she developed a business exporting Australian native and exotic plants to the UK, Europe and Japan.
