BiographyHistory

Sam Gumugun is a didjeridu player from Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory of Australia. Together with Frank Gurrmanamana (q.v.) and Stephen Malkorda (q.v.), Gumugun recorded Djambidj : An Aboriginal Song Series from Northern Australia, songs from the people of the Blyth River near Maningrida. Djambidj is a group of thematically associated songs which have the actions and characteristics of the Djambidj spirits as their subjects.
