BiographyHistory

George Woolnough was a Wesleyan clergyman and a journalist. He was also a graduate of Sydney University. In the early 1880s, following a lengthy career in the church, he took up a position as leader writer at the Sydney Morning Herald. In 1885 he was appointed editor of the Brisbane Telegraph, a position which he held until his retirement in December 1916.
