BiographyHistory

Angelina Wonga was born in Everard Park in South Australia and is an Elder. Wonga was part of the senior Kokatha, Antikarinya and Yankunytjatjara women who formed the group Kupa Piti Kungka Tjuta and protested against plans to build a radioactive waste site on their lands. Together they travelled the world raising awareness of the Australian government's plans for the site. In August 2004 the Australian government abandoned the plans.
