Tony Brown was born on Flinders Island in Tasmania and is the son of Joan and Devony Brown. His mother's shell necklace work has been included in museum and private collections throughout Australian and international collections. Tony Brown has been the Curator for Indigenous Cultures at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
