BiographyHistory

John Pitts, printer and bookseller, established his business in the Seven Dials area of London in 1802, and traded there until his death in 1844. He specialised in the production of broadside ballads, which he produced in considerable volumes. Pitts' shop, the "Toy and Marble Warehouse" in Great St Andrew Street, also sold children's toys and books.
