BiographyHistory

'Katakapu worked with stock on De Grey Station. He also did the cooking in the mustering camps... He joined the 1946 strike and subsequently joined the Nomads on Strelley Station. Katakapu went back to work on De Grey Station in the 1960s when conditions had improved for Aboriginal workers.' He composed songs in Ngarla, an Aboriginal language spoken in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Ngarla Songs (2003)
