BiographyHistory

Archibald Boyd, a cousin of Benjamin Boyd (q.v.), studied at Cambridge University and was admitted to the Bar in 1834. He emigrated to New South Wales in 1838 and took up land on the Clarence River. Boyd was a fierce supporter of the squatters' cause and made several trips to London to lobby the British governmenton behalf of the squatters.

Boyd returned to England in 1849 and turned his attention to writing, publishing several historical romance novels between 1850 and 1856.
