BiographyHistory

Laura Bloom grew up in the inner city suburb of Glebe. She was educated at various Sydney schools including Loreto Convent Girls School, Kirribilli. She also spent a year as a Rotary Exchange Student in Bremen, West Germany.

Bloom graduated from the University of Technology Sydney in 1992 with Bachelor of Arts in Communications. She established her own filmmaking business and spent some years writing, travelling and working for government departments in the areas of community development and health promotion for young people. In 1999, she spent a year in India, followed by several years in London, UK.

Returning to Australia, Bloom worked in project management. She re-located to the Northern Rivers of New South Wales with her family in 2005.
