BiographyHistory

Rock 'n' roll music journalist and critic. Her biography was published in 2002.

Lillian Roxon's writing on the emerging rock scene in the United States have been credited as helping lay the foundation for serious rock journalism, and she was the author of the world's first rock encyclopedia.

She did not concentrate on Australian music (although she did contribute to the Sydney Morning Herald), but did write a novel loosely based on her years in Sydney: unpublished, it is held with her other papers at the Mitchell Library, State Library of New South Wales.

Australian Writing and Rock Music affiliation: journalist.
