Ian Robinson’s play succeeds in being both a respectful homage to the original and an irreverent flight of delicious fantasy away from it. He has managed to transform the dramatic milieu and the rhythms of Waiting for Godot into something new.

'The play mercilessly dissects the immigration policies both the previous Labor and the current Coalition government with hilarious results, while at the same time following the wretched plight of a Tamil refugee caught in the limbo between being a genuine refugee and having a negative ASIO assessment. Locals will find some of the scenes especially evocative as they recognize on stage the alter egos of more than one former Immigration Minister twisting his way through a press conference.'
