Betty Bezant moved according to where her father could secure work as an itinerant labourer during the Depression years. When her father secured permanent employment as a railway worker the family settled at Otford, New South Wales, in 1940. Later in life, at 76 years of age, Bezant felt compelled to share her life memories and published her autobiography.
