BiographyHistory

R. H. Barham was an English clergyman, novelist and poet. Barham was a founding member of the Garrick Club, whose other members included Charles Dickens, William Makepeace Thackeray and Charles Reade.

Under his pseudonym Thomas Ingoldsby, some of Barham's work was published in nineteenth-century Australian newspapers and magazines, including the Temperance Advocate and Australasian Commercial and Agricultural Intelligencer.
