BiographyHistory

Affiliated with the Melbourne-based Bread and Cheese Club, the Bread and Cheese Songwriters and Composers group was quite active in the 1940s, holding monthly gatherings, organising song competitions, and presenting a once-a-year concert at the Melbourne Town Hall. During the late 1950s, the group met in a room in a building on the south/west corner of Little Collins Street and Elizabeth Street. A number of intimate revues were also staged there by members of the group.
