BiographyHistory

Branka Cubrilo was born in the early 1960s and migrated to Australia in 1992. Her first novel I Knew Jane Eyre was published when she was eighteen and won the Yugoslav Young Writers Award (1982). She is the author of several other novels, written in Croatian. Her work has been reviewed in the Croatian and Italian press. Her novel Fiume-Corre was translated into English in 1999 with the title As a River. [Source: Viva! no. 4, August/September 2001, p. 19]
