BiographyHistory

Saul Yarran is an Indigenous artist and has worked for the Aboriginal Medical Service. Yarran grew up in southwest Western Australia and began working with the Railways at the age of 16, in around 1957, where he worked until he married. Yarran then worked in various occupations, including farm hand, and was given State Housing in Northam. During his stay in Northam Saul Yarran worked towards establishing an Aboriginal workplace until the funding from the Department of Aboriginal Affairs was cancelled. Yarran moved to Perth with his three sons to seek employment with the Aboriginal Medical Service.
