BiographyHistory

Seweryn Korzelinski was a Polish patriot who was jailed (in Turkey) for his opposition to the Prussian occupation of Poland. He traveled from Turkey to England and then migrated to Australia in 1852. His memoirs, published in Poland in 1858, describe life on the Victorian goldfields. Korzelinski returned to Poland in 1856.
