Florrie Spider came from Rossville in Far North Queensland. She moved to Thompson Creek (Wujal Wujal, Queensland) as a young girl. At approximately 18 years of age she moved to the Daintree in Queensland where she lived with her husband,
Sandy Cobb on the banks of the Daintree River. Florrie Spider was involved in the tin mining industry of that area as a prospector. Later in life she moved to Cooktown. Spider is the mother of
Cissy Ross-Kelly.
