BiographyHistory

'Molly Spider or Kuku Buyun died at about 101 years of age. Her true birthdate is somewhat uncertain; the records show her as being born in 1903 but they also show her first child as being born in 1913...Spider believed herself to be over one hundred years old.' When she was young she worked for a white family named Bowditch, caring for their children and keeping house. Norman Bowditch, one of these children, considered Spider to be his 'adoptive Mum.' She is the grandmother of Cissy Ross-Kelly.
