Richard Sanderson was the printer, publisher and editor of the Sydney Gazette from 2 August 1842 to 20 October 1842, when publication ceased. He left New South Wales at the end of October. Sanderson was bankrupt and his estate was compulsorily sequestered; after an auction of the Gazette's assets the estate paid ninepence farthing in the pound.
