BiographyHistory

Reuben Cooper was the son of Robert Joel Cooper who had a sawmill in Paru. Cooper was educated in Adelaide at a boarding school where he was recognised as a gifted sportsman. Upon his return to Darwin, Reubin Cooper was later selected to represent Australia at the Olympic Games but was barred from entering because of his Aboriginal heritage.
