BiographyHistory

'Maningrida singer, songwriter and music teacher, Djolpa McKenzie was "discovered" playing in a park in Darwin, [Northern Territory]. He has been a member of the Darwin-based band Wild Water. He writes lyrics about the sea, the land and its people in his mother's language, Brarra, as well as in Kriol and English. He also taught music at the Maningrida Community Education Centre.'
