BiographyHistory

Marjorie Mungulu was born at Wotjulum Mission in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. She has been a community health worker in the Kimberley region for many years and also studied Aboriginal Health at Curtin University. Mungulu paints the elegant, highly decorated Gyorn Gyorn figures, which represent the earliest Kimberley inhabitants. The images in Mungulu paintings are recalled from family stories.
