David Laing is a Tasmania-based author. A former teacher (beginning in a small school in outback South Australia) and later principal, he began writing after his retirement. He published three works in his Forest Spirits series, all of which focus on a young Aboriginal girl (Jars) who moves to Tasmania from the Northern Territory, and embarks on a series of adventures with her cousin (Snooks).
